Larry Scott- New Pac 10 Commish.

Just wanted to say that after watching his interview with Jim Rome, he seems like a perfect fit for their conference. He seems like a young guy with great ideas and he understands the public's perception of their conference. I only wish great things for the Pac 10 because everone knows better competition only breeds greater achievements. Good luck to the Pac 10...with the exception of F-usc
..Just joking.

and may they keep beating up on the SEC.

I know they have a winning record versus every other conference and it's a shame that the public's perception doesn't match their record. Kind of reminds of media and politics. After watching this guy though, I have a feeling his number one goal is to change that perception.

I agree. I also think going undefeated in bowls last year will be a good springboard.

yes, the country just needs to know that the Pac-10 is the best conference in America.

Not to detract from going undefeated, but the Pac10 bowl tie-ins are pretty bad.

he's basically not going to do anything until the next TV contract is up, which is obviously going to be huge with the current disaster of a TV deal. He hasn't said anything about officiating and pretty much said he can't do anything about bowls right now, so the only other areas he needs to show some leadership, he's basically said he'll be inactive. It'll be more of the same bullshite is what I'm saying

Who said they were the best conference in America? That would be silly. I only said I hope they KEEP beating up on the best conference in America.

No doubt the SEC is up big. But with the SEC being stronger than it has ever been in the last decade, the allegedly piss poor PAC-10 has more than a winning record vs. the SEC during the same time frame. It is what it is.

yes, it's Pac 10 fans with penis envy trying to hang their hats on small stage wins by pac 10 teams over SEC teams not named LSU or Florida. You can have that, the SEC will take 5 crystal footballs by 3 different teams.
The Pac-10 doesn't suck, primarily thanks to USC, but the Pac 10 obsession with the SEC is as bad as some LSU fans and their obsession with USC.

Are you talking about the Pac 10 or the SEC (see Utah/Bama and Wyoming/TN)?

Larry Scott talks the talk, but will he walk the walk? Our TV deals suck, our bowl tie ins suck, and we have no where near the collective financial assets or passionately rabid fan bases of most SEC schools. And yet, we are more than competitive lately when you add the numbers up.
He is right about one thing, its all about perception. USC is perceived as a very strong team in a very weak conference, but the reality is that our toughest games are always IN conference. Only Vince Young and Texas in the BCSCG were good enough to beat USC other than PAC 10 teams in recent years from OOC. And they needed a blown call (yes his knee was down) and a 4th and 9 conversion with less than a minute left to do that.
Many USC fans seem to pooh-pooh the "conference solidarity" thing, almost as if because USC is obviously a cut above the rest of the conference, as if to say screw the rest of the PAC 10, we don't "need them".
Reality says otherwise. We need every team in our conference to perform well out of conference if we are to get the sort of "mulligans" that Florida got last season after losing to Ole Miss at home.
If we drop a tough roadie to Cal or Oregon but the PAC 10 wins all of its collective intersectional match ups, and we win out, we will finally get the benefit of the doubt and get into the BCS Championship game with one loss, ala Florida 08.
As long as teams like Oregon lose to Boise State or teams like Cal lose to Ralph Refrigerator's Terps, we are arse out unless we win out.
