Well, as we all know Florida ran all over us last year. Our guys while strong hitters and big bodied over all , was defeated with speed.

Felt like a Big 10 school against Florida last year. Thought we could have wore them down like we did in 2007 but that was a bust.

So this year, will we be able to get a handle on their speed or will we try the same power defense? Now I know our guys are fast, but I remember reading last year that Florida practice all week long to do battle with us. Even on sundays, we will have that motivation or will we just meet our quota and take a break?

We moved Coleman to OLB. I would assume that is going to be an upgrade in speed at the position. I think LB is the only position that is really a position we could improve with speed.

Trindon is probably the only super elite speed on the offense, but we have a lot of big time play makers on offense.

LSU lacked aggression and QB pressure last year. Fix that, win games this year.

oh.. and play calling.

I'd go dime against UF the whole game, or 5 DBs/ 2 LBs if you count Harry as an LB.

It had nothing to do with the players lack of speed. The fact Florida isn't really faster than LSU. The problem was the confusion on defense caused the players to hesitate alot of times.

We can put Trindon on the field for both offense and defense. Speed problem solved.

LSU is a power defense first and speed defense second. The game against Darren McFadden proved that, however against any other power team we will slaughter them. As proven in our bowl games. Florida while smaller is speedier, that was why their 2006 team stopped us cold, their 2007-newish defense team gave us a run for our money and their 2008 team was able to take advantage of all of our mistake.

We need to be faster or if not that learn to counter it somehow.

SFP, the combination of Major Wright and Ahmad Black is slower than Chad Jones and Ron Brooks

I don't think florida is really faster than LSU. It just appeared that way because of the confusion on defense resulted in the defense playing slow. But player for player I don't think there is much of a difference.

there are 2-3 players on FL offense last year that not one person one our D could keep up with

This is the correct answer. We've been through this already. LSU and Florida recruit 90% of the same guys out of high school. You think Florida is recruiting all track champion all americans and we are recruiting a bunch of slow arse plugs. Definitely not.

And the same could be said about those same 2-3 players against any other D in the country.

Something else people don't think about, a lack of discipline on D makes you look a whole lot slower than you really are too. Improper pursuit angles will make an extremely fast player look like an idiot. I saw a lot of bad angles taken last year. That has to do with coaching, motivation, and pride, all of which I think we lacked last season. This coming season, watch out, it will be a different story. We will knock Tebow's dick into his watch pocket.

What he said. In fact, we are one of the few teams that can match up athletically with Florida. It wasn't so much that Fla. dominated us last year. Take away the points we gave them on turnovers or the lucky tipped pass for a TD that should have been 3 and out on Fla's first possession and you have a very different game.

The key is simply play calling (game plan) and execution (a few good breaks doesn't hurt either). We have the athletes to beat any team.

Troy ran all over us, and and many other terrible teams. I had to turn off last years Arkansas game. We were very poorly coached.End of story.
