Solid looking prospect who people are overhyping in an attempt to be able to say they always knew he would be great.

eta: Similar to Richard Murphy.

He'll end up a starter at LSU. Might take him a few years...maybe like Matt Flynn...but he'll be good.

He had no offensive line in the offense-defense high school all star game and was able to maintain his poise and make some plays. Big arm, strong, doesn't get rattled.

Really nice pickup for the Tigers.

word out of LSU is he is going to be special and there's a good chance he will be our starting QB at some point in the next 5 seasons

I think Garrett/Shep will have a role similar to Flynn/RP down the line, maybe even sooner if Jefferson for some reason doesn't pan out.

He looked better than Jarrett Lee in the spring game if anyone was actually watching objectively. No questions asked.

Jefferson
Lee
Shep
Garrett

If we can't find a consistent QB out of that group, I'm not sure what more we can do in terms of recruiting QBs. We're loaded at that position and very diverse in terms of "styles", just need to get them all experienced now.

Does anyone have enough data on Chris as a CFB QB to even make an accurate assessment? He has potential.. yes. Other than this I have no idea how to answer this question.

garrett will NOT pass lee this year. maybe down the road. there are too many things he will have to adjust to that the percentages are against him

Check out his High School video.

Chris Garrett High School Highlights

He's got a little bit of Jamrcus Russell going on. Big kid--stands tall in the pocket--willing to take a hit to get the ball down field--and he's got that nice "wrist twitch" throwing motion where the ball seems to just keep going and going. He also looked pretty good in the Spring game for a freshman.

I think the young man has a really bright future ahead of him and he could do some big things for the Tigers. But until we get to see him in some true gametime action, we're all just speculating.

If you take into account JJ has a year in the program, Garrett looked better than him, if you were actually watching objectively. No questions asked.

Why do we put so much stock into basically what is a glorifed practice?

Honest Question, I am curious because so many people say "What I saw in Spring Game"
