James Wright has 4 stars on rivals and is rated the 40th best receiver. Both Davis and Hunter are around 20-25th.
can LSU afford to pass on Wright, Fobbs and Carter. all 3 are 4 stars for whatever thats worth.

I think LSU gets Wright. It's hard to pass up the home state school. IMO, and it's just a guess, they didn't offer Carter bc they like Wright better.

Propensity to stargaze in inversely proportional post count.

we can afford to for sure
remember that Trovon Reed is still out there and we will probably be getting him
I think we should take Fobbs or Carter as athletes and hope that they dont mind switching to corner if wr is too stacked.

I just have a hard time seeing Wright, Reed, Davis, Simon, and Hunter all at LSU next year. At least one of those guys must cringe at the potential depth chart, and I would guess that Wright is the most likely person to do that.

Max of 5 spots left...
Johnson (or another big RB), Seastrunk, Reed, Dickson and.....?

Fobbs has already committed to A&M, and the longer they wait to offer Carter the more he will lean to Nebraska. They didn't offer B.J. Chitty at camp and he looked really good too. There's some serious stuff going on with the WR's with the LSU coaches. I can't seem to figure out their motives.

One of the out of state commits will likely de-commit.

Steve, you were probably one of the only guys at the camp, so were you able to see this new pick-up, Blackmon? I remember you said that you were mostly working with RBs and LBs, but you probably have more to offer than anyone else right now because no one knows this guy
What do you mean by this?
Well, the coaches seem to value the two out of state guys more than anyone else left on the board except Reed.

With the '11 class of wr's (Lewis,Sylve,Landry), do we think ahead about those 3 and offer accordingly this year? Meaning, if we sign too many wr's this year, will it affect landing all 3 of those next year?

Boy the wet dreams that would bring you.
Maybe it will be Zach Lee and we will offer Munchie!

Is Wright even an LSU lean?
How could a kid from BC not jump on an LSU offer immediately? Especially someone like Wright?

Actually Last I heard out of Belle Chasse is that he likes the gumps.

I just don't see us taking Wright and Reed given the WRs in state next year. NOw if Fobbs or Wright want to play CB, maybe.

i dont know why we need to take 1 average LA WR just to please the locals. Justin Hunter, Davis and Reed is fine and Simon might be a WR himself. Not to mention Landry, Sylve, the kid from St James etc for next year.

I agree Max. I just think they are sweating the numbers after the last two years. Plus, who's to say that James Wright couldn't beat out a Mike Davis or Justin Hunter? IMO neither of those two are slamdunks as prospects, and Wright is pretty good.
And Simon seems to be a DB in their mind by all accounts.

He's an incredible prospect. DeAndre Brown type athleticism IMO. Not as physically developed at this point in time.. but that's who he reminds me of.

Yeah, but I don't see him being ready to play for at least a year since he needs to add muscle. Who knows, maybe Wright could play earlier than him.
