I've been working on our Seattle trip tonight and was wondering if anyone has eaten at the Space Needle? Thoughts?

Don't go if your expecting a five a star meal, but if you are going to drink and eat then you are at the right place. It has to be one of the best views in the world. There is a bar at the EMP museum, which is in walking distance to the space needle, that you need to have a few warm up drinks at before dinner.

I love being a tourist, so I do tourist things. The Space Needle is a tourist only restaurant. No one from Seattle would ever eat there.

I went a few years ago and didn't even know there was a restaurant up there. Great views though, if the weather cooperates... not uncommon I don't think to head up on a nice day and have clouds roll in ruining the view.

From everything I know about the place, it is extremly too pricey for the food you get.

Food is very pricy considering it is just Applebee's with a hell of a view.

Enjoy the scenery, have a cocktail and go somewhere else. I lived in Seattle 88-90 so things may have changed.

I have made several trips to Seattle at various times of the year, have seen one brief afternoon rain. Eating at tourist attractions is generally not a good idea, with the exception of the Eiffel Tower. However if the quality of the food is secondary to enjoying a great view and money is not a big problem, go for it.

I ate there about 4 years ago. Luckily I was on business and didn't have to pay.

1 shrimp app
2 Tuna Steak entrees
2 desserts

2 glasses of wine
2 draft beers

Total = $150

Like others have said, great view. They also come by and take a high quality picture of you at the table with the great view out of the window, that of course you can purchase.

I think this is what we decided to do.

I went this past April, making reservations right at sunset.

Even though it was a bit expensive, I thought the food was good and it was well worth the view and the money.

Go during the day - the food isn't spectacular, but the view is amazing, especially during the summer.

Went and had a few drinks and enjoyed the view for a while and went on to the Market Area for some seafood.
