Where McNair ranks among athletes from the SWAC...

I am not a SWAC historian by any means, but the others that I can think of off the top of my head that would compare are Jerry Rice (Miss. Valley), Doug Williams (Grambling), and going old school, Lou Brock (Southern). Others?

How could he be the most successful when you listed Jerry Rice as being from the SWAC?

Jerry Rice (Miss. Valley),
well that pretty much ended the most famous/successful talk, but he was one of them no doubt

Ok..changed name of topic. Behind Rice, is McNair the most successful...and who are some other big ones that I may have forgotten.

I'm not big on the history of the SWAC, lol.
But given your list, in terms of most successful career, I'd go:
1. Rice
2. McNair
3. Doug Williams

True...had not included Payton. He has to be at the top of the list too, though it would seem Rice still would be #1

Damnm, the SWAC is representin, lol.
So, make that:
1. Rice
2. Payton
3. McNair
4. Williams

Payton is #1 IMHO, FWIW
Nothing wrong with that.
I'm biased towards Rice, for no particular reason.
I honestly thing that Rice was the GOAT NFL player, not just WR, so I'll take him over Payton, but that's just me, lol.
His numbers are insane, just way ahead of any other WR.

Although he doesn't compare to Rice or Payton, John Stallworth (Alabama A&M) probably still deserves a mention, being an NFL HOFer with 4 Super Bowl rings

overall success = jerry rice hands down..
but if you are talking simply college times then mcnair is right up there with the best.
