I wish they would appoint Jesse and AL to oversee this. They would get it straightened out.

I would prefer that the Bayou Classic with Southern vs Grambling every year, NOT be the the national title game.

Damn right! They need to go back and review the testimony that all those lying baseball players like Palmeiro, Sosa and Tejada gave on Capitol Hill about steroid use in MLB.

I don't even see how they have a case. Utah has equal access to the $$$$ of the BCS, so what grounds do they have? No one is going to make a rule that guarantees them a shot at the title, just that they be included.

I was wondering how long it would take before our prez is insulted in this thread. Nevermind the fact that it is always Hatch or Barton (R-TX) who push this.

Remember the "fair" game? It's not fair for the Southerns or Gramblings or the Harvards of the world.

Very Quickly, no doubt.

2008
Reps. Neil Abercrombie (D-Hawaii), Lynn Westmoreland (R-Ga.) and Mike Simpson (R-Idaho) are introducing a resolution rejecting the oft-criticized bowl system as an illegal restriction on trade because only the largest universities compete in most of the major bowl games.

2007
Congress will step into the debate about the college football postseason with a hearing Thursday that will include testimony from some of the sport's most powerful figures.

2006
House representative Joe Barton sounds like a simple man from a simple town. But he's heading up a House Energy and Commerce subcommittee of Congress (it's their job to regulate America's sports industry) to conduct research on the Bowl Championship Series and hold hearings, if necessary, if the BCS Bowl selections cause the uproar they did last year.

2005
Calling the Bowl Championship Series "deeply flawed," the chairman of a congressional committee has called a hearing on the controversial system used to determine college football's national champion.

2004
But senators could look to the plight of the undefeated Texas Christian University Horned Frogs on Wednesday as they inquire about the fairness and legality of the Bowl Championship Series — the method in place for crowning college football's national champion.

Nah, the money was already being dished out. It just might go to different people now.

I am 72 years old and I have to wonder if you had to go to college to get this smart.

Mr. Mile High, I don't have issues with you saying that the govt shouldn't be giving money to banks, auto companies, and insurance companies, but you are way over the line when you include "old people." The "old people" have given and given to make this a great country, and you should be ashamed of yourself. BTW, if, and I will say "IF" you should be so lucky as to become one of the "old people," you better have a huge amount of money to support yourself. Income tends to decrease with age and expenses tend to increase.

Scrap the system, go back to bowl tie ins ending on the first, let whoever TF wants to vote on a MNC do it. We already have our championship game, and it's in Atlanta. There is no way to make the SEC season any better, so don't mess with it.
