These are foul poles...
These are not...
Hopefully decent foul poles are in the works for "Stage 2" of the New Alex Box.

would be nice, but we'll be fine without them. I want to see those crossbeams next to the suites gone first.

I just think the premier baseball program in the country can put up decent foul poles, which along with the turf itself are two of the most important components of any baseball stadium.
The foul poles in the New Box are rinky dink.
The most important things to do at the new box (in order):
1. Permanent batter's eye
2. Something in right field (stands/berm/Intimidator or some combination of the three)
3. Normal foul poles
4. New bleachers for left field (use the same kind of bleachers that they put in right field when they do RF)
5. Additional suites to complete the grandstand (which are already in the works and plans, just a couple of years away)

first of all the "crossbars" are there for structural support of the entire structure and second of all they will be used to support the rest of the suites that will be constructed down the road

rinky dink.
That would also describe the batters eye.
The batters eye coupled with all of the wood fencing and metal buildings behind the outfield wall manage to make a promising outfield backdrop very trashy.

most college stadiums have short foul poles
South Carolina
Arkansas
Ole Miss

Man, I really never thought Arkansas's stadium was that big. I know it holds more than Alex Box, but is it the picture or is it really that big looking.

south carolina's and arkansas' actually look OK. Ole Miss's look a lot like ours ... puny.
All that said, I'm sure LSU is planning on getting new foul poles as I've heard talks of it already from a few people.

The outfield fence still needs to be repaired. It was blown down by a storm not long after the new Box opened.

it's really that big. sucks to admit it, but i think arkansas has the nicest stadium in the country. if only it had the atmosphere of the box.

Doesn't Creighton play there? I remember ULM playing Creighton and they said the draw was getting to play in Rosenblatt.

While they're at it, it would be nice if they put rail and some screen in front of the dugouts too.

At least. I'm thinking once the right field bleachers are put in, the stadium will probably hold upwards of 11k or 12k.
