Has there been a thread to discuss the discrepency in the strike zone on the first pitch last night?

He was quite clever by expanding the zone for TX on the first pitch to get our guys in the hole and he narrowed the first pitch zone for LSU pitchers. The rest of the time he was equally good/bad.

Who was this guy and what is his affinity to TX?

Seemed to call a lot of very, very low strikes.

From the box score, his name is Joe Burleson. PAC-10 official.

Can't find much info on this guy.

This was just reported on ESPN. Apparently Erin Andrews picked up a piece of paper that fell out of the home plate umpire's pocket last night and it's just making it on this afternoon's Sportscenter.

Was he calling the game @ Rosenblatt? It did not appear so to me.

I am a huge MLB fan and I am not always happy about the umpiring. But After watching the last few college games I have realized how much better the pro umps are. These college umps have been horribly inconsistent to say the least.... But here's to hoping the better team wins tonight and we all know who that is.

So are you implying that that or any officials calls had anything to do with Lsu losing the game? Why can't you just accept the fact that their pitcher pitched an awesome game and we could not hit him, and they were the better team last night.
