Answer me this. How does someone with as big of a lower half as that dude has hit with so little power? His swing is all arms and zero power. No clue how he hits cleanup instead of 8 or 9 hole. Sorry, just an observation.

because he's not a great LHP hitter. He has a slow bat.

if he batted RH he would be in double digits...his swings are so much better.

As a huge PM supporter, this is one thing that has always confused me. My lineup against a RHP tomorrow would be...

1) Jared Mitchell
2) DJ Lemahieu (sp)
3) Ryan Schimpf
4) Blake Dean
5) Sean Ochinko
6) Tyler Hanover
7) Mikie Mahtook
8) Micah Gibbs
9) Austin Nola

Power = legs. Over the course of the season, a catcher's legs get worn down. It's why even some of the best catchers ever never sported the world's greatest batting average.

Catching has evolved, and players are hitting for higher averages and greater power, but even still legs get tired.

I love it except I would keep Lemahieu in the leadoff with Mitchell 2nd. Hanover has got to do better than Helinihi.

I don't think so...PM won't change the lineup that much. But I do love Mitchell as the leadoff guy.

1) Jared Mitchell
2) Ryan Schimpf
3) Blake Dean
4) Mikie Mahtook
5) DJ Lemahieu
6) Sean Ochinko
7) Micah Gibbs
8) D.Helenihi

Thats definitly what I would do. Get mitchell at leadoff because he has been on fire. He can also walk, which makes him a threat on the basepath.

PM won't change the 2,3 spot in the order. Micah should move back to the 7 hole because he can't really hit batting LH imo. Much better batting RH. Mikie has power and can hit at the 4. DJ is the ideal 5 hole hitter. Can get the RBI's and has a little bit of power. And the rest of the lineup is given.

I respectfully disagree completely. I think batting MM fourth is crazy. That is the RBI slot. You need a contact hitter with power. MM has struck out too many times. Let the expercienced man do the job. Last game of Dean's career here. If he can't do it now, he never will.
