I just got back from Omaha; I have client meetings in Atlanta this week so I can't make the championship series.
I thought I would share with you my experience watching the LSU game with a college baseball head coach and 2 guys that played in the CWS.
I always enjoy watching a game with these guys, because I learn alot about baseball. These guys have no ties to LSU, but could not shut up about how impressed they were.
Here are couple of things they said:
On LSU-"They are a AA team right now." "They are the best team I have seen in Omaha in a long time." "You look at Ranaudo, Gibbs, LeMahieu, and Mitchell, and you say major leaguer, major leaguer, major leaguer, and major leaguer."
On Ranaudo- They were shocked at how big he looked in person. "There is no wasted energy. He just goes out there and can repeat the same motion again and again. It looks effortless."
On Mitchell-"He wears a uniform better than anyone I have ever seen." "He just floats from one base to the next."
On Nola-"He has really quick hands at the plate. He will be a great one before he leaves LSU."
On Gibbs-"He is catches the low ball out in front of him with his arms extended, and catches the high pitch at his chest to give it longer to fall in the zone. You can make an instructional video out of watching him."
On the Texas LSU matchup- "I would not trade one position player for LSU for the same position player for Texas."
"Pitching will determine the winner of the series, but I like LSU."

Were they biased towards LSU? In other words, do they have personal reasons to say those things?

No. They have no ties to LSU, other than I am good friends with one of them. A couple of them have some ties to Arkansas actually.
