""This just in: The College World Series is better when LSU wins.

No offense to the seven other teams — OK, six as Cal State Fullerton drives to the airport — here in Omaha. We love you all. But there's no sense in denying it: LSU is Omaha's team (with apologies to UNO and Trev Alberts).

Nothing against Arkansas, either. The “Omahogs'' were loud and proud and everywhere you looked. If we can't have gumbo for two weeks, pulled pork is a fine caloric substitute. The Omahogs look like they can throw a party, too."

the hogs aren't either

I'm basically living there now. I've talked to plenty of the natives there.

YES...LSU is Omaha's team.

They love the team, the people, and the food.

I just returned today and I know several Omaha residents who claim, by far, LSU is their favorite. The fans are crazy in the stands, they spend money, they love baseball, they show up regardless if LSU is playing and they know how to party. The 8th and 9th innings were so much fun last night with the dueling chants. We make believers out of non-believers

Interestingly enough, I was told last week that the CWS loses money when Nebraska goes.

there's just something about LSU that people love in Omaha. It's probably the awesome tailgating.

I know someone in Omaha, and they told me the city loves LSU and LSU fans! I wish I could be there.

I think it's because LSU fans LOVE Omaha, feelings mutual. Also, LSU fans don't go to see what the town offers, they offer the town a taste of Louisiana. They don't wait for the party, they make the party.

Same thing when LSU goes to the Sugar Bowl. When teams from out of state go, the fans book hotels for a few days, do tourist stuff, and spend lots of $$. When LSU goes, a lot of the fans drive in for the game and leave after.

This was my first time in Omaha (just got back last night). Everything in this article is dead on. I must say it was an incredible trip, probably one of the best, if not the best I have ever taken. Def. worth the long drive
