Why does this say Ranaudo got a no-decision?

BATON ROUGE -- LSU starting pitcher Anthony Ranaudo tossed a three-hitter and fanned 14 in a nine-inning no-decision before closer Matty Ott earned his 15th save with a scoreless 10th inning, as the Tigers advance to the regional final with a 3-2 win over Baylor on Saturday night at Alex Box Stadium.

NCAA Recap

When I was driving home from the game last night, Hannigriff also said the same thing on the postgame show. Hannigriff and this NCAA recap are wrong. Ranaudo got the win as he was the pitcher of record when we took the lead.

Ranaudo got the win. We all know that, but if that article was accurate, then who got the win? We pitched two guys and Ott got the save.

Ott with the win. Save record will have to be broken in Omaha.

I think you are correct. Ranuado left the game with a tie score. He closes out as a no decision and Ott gets the win because we took the lead on his watch.

Ranaudo was still the pitcher when LSU took the lead. During the top of the 10th Ranaudo was still the pitcher. Ott did not enter the game until the bottom of the 10th.

Ranaudo gets the win.

Nope. It is incorrect. Ott didn't come in until the bottom of the tenth. Ranaudo got the win. Hannigriff and this recap article were incorrect.

I'm not asking, as I am 100% confident Ranaudo got the win. I was just curious why this says differently and why Hannigriff was incorrect as well.

Ranaudo left in the ninth. After nine complete, it was tied. He cannot get the win. Ott gets win because he was pitcher of record in the 10th inning, when LSU took the lead.

Renaudo was the pitcher of record when LSU took the lead. Ott hadn't thrown a pitch yet. AR gets the win. The end.

No. Ranaudo gets the win. This is basic.

Half say they are certain Ranaudo got the win.

Half are equally certain it was tied when Ranaudo left the game.

What does truth say? When Ranaudo last pitched, the game was indeed tied. But LSU pulled ahead in the top of the 10th. It wasn't until the bottom of the 10th that Ott was inserted in favor of Ranaudo. Thus Ranaudo gets the win, and Ott the save.

You're welcome, those that were wrong.

" AFTER 9 COMPLETE, HE CANNOT GET THE WIN"
What are you a total idiot? Yes he can, and he did. When we scored in the top of the 10th, it could not be assumed that Ott was coming in. When that 3rd run scored, AR was still the picher of record. His win. Ott the save.

Ranaudo got the win. Hannigriff and the NCAA article are/were wrong. The following doesn't really need to be posted as I know for a fact with 100% confidence that Ranaudo got the win, but just in case there is any doubt, here ya go...

Exactly. Why not give the win to Chad Jones because he was up in the bullpen in the top of the 10th also? You don't know that AR was coming out in the top of the 10th. He was still LSU's pitcher.

I can't believe some people have NO baseball knowledge and actually think AR didn't get the win!
