No it doesn't. Plenty of football prospects have attended public schools.

I guess Redemptorist is slipping in the recruiting game.

That's because they are competing with Central and now possibly Zachary.

True. I'd say at least 50% of RHS came from Central and Zachary. Of course that was 7-10 years ago

To Central's credit they done a fine job of getting some pretty decent BR players of late.

I think Central can build their athletic program into a state wide force. They have the coaches, resources and community in place. They have strong feeder programs and have shown that they are willing to spend money to build a winner. Hats of to them and they are about to turn that athletic department into a state wide powerhouse.

Same with Zachary

Guess there is life after Sid at Redemptorist which gives hope to Central for long term success. Personally I think Zachary is more likely to grow into consistent Statewide athletic powerhouse.

Could you explain this?

Just in case you truly don't know, south LA is heavily roman catholic and the public schools are basically garbage when compared to the rest of the country. the result is more attended private schools, particularly of the catholic variety in south LA.

They've had skill kids but they've never had those kind of linemen on either side of the ball. Could be different with kid Weiner taking over and bringing in a more wide open attack that doesn't rely as much on big linemen as the option did under Howell.

Yeah I guess I never thought of that, That offense also relies on short passes and getting upfield rather than a cannon arm where the QB will need time. I personally like the triple option but I can see where the kids will probably buy into this offense alot quicker.

Don't look for Coon to stay at QB the entire season and don't bet the house on Edwards staying at Central for the long haul. The Wolves will phase in a new QB during the season and move Coon back to his natural position at wide receiver and if Edwards is back on the sideline at Central in 2010 you may have a scoop.

I don't know much about BR schools. How do the public schools recruit? Is recruiting of players from one local school a big problem?
