Out of all the players that left last year, who would you have liked to have stay on the team the most? Ill go ahead and nullify seniors.

Ill say Clark. His power #s were missed a bit this year.

I'm sure all will say Clark, but a few, to be different, will say Hollander or Bradford. And they'll be lying out their asses.

Bradford, or the Bradshaw from last year when he couldn't be hit.

Verdugo, no doubt. With him being the third pitcher we would have been unstoppable all year.

i was mostly shooting at juniors leaving early, since even though this is all hypothetical, juniors could have been on the team this year.

i was thinking verdugo too. we really could have used him as our 3rd pitcher. ross would have been a ridiculous midweek starter.

Or he could have been the link btw Coleman/Ranaudo to Ott

Bradford & not really even close.

Clark could maybe be argued, but good pitching is always more important than good hitting (particularly one hitter). Bradford had a rubber arm also.

I can actually can understand the Bradford argument, but unlike many, I am very content with our staff. We have two aces and 4-6 other reliables.

Verdugo...nah. It's easy to say that a pitcher like him could come back and be the "third starter". It's not for sure that we do better with him than without him. I also do not think he's as versatile as Bradford, who had a rubber arm.

I miss a big bat in the lineup and Clark would have given us that. I'm talking 25-30 HR power and Dean and Gibbs would have seen better pitching. The lineup would be complete.

I'll agree, though...it'd be great to have Bradford back, too.

Also, if you get Clark back, you have to sit someone.... prob Ochinko & his .330 avg. Obviously Clark has more pop, but the odds that he would have had an all-world season like last year are not great.
If you could guarantee Clark's #s from '08, I'd maybe take him.

Bradford was Mr. Consistency. Not great numbers or overpowering....just a winner. Could you imagine him setting up for Ott if not 3rd starter (prob would have been Ott setting up for him though, at first atleast)? That would be extremely difficult to beat in a 3 game series w/ Coleman & Ranaudo.

Those are the reasons I wish Clark was still here.

i would go with Clark, but u couldn't go wrong with Bradford either.

With Clark, we would never lose a game AR or Coleman pitched

A lineup of DJ, Schimpf, Dean, Clark, Mathook, Mitchell, Gibbs, Nola, and Hannover would be pretty damn impressive

Anthony Randolph.

We could have been a NC contender, man.
