It sure bothers the hezz out of me that he has the credentials and the crystal trophy and never mentioned with the likes of Urban, Nick, and Lil Marcus Richt.

no, it can be used as a motivation tool

as long as he keeps winning i really don't care

It all will change after this season and next.
Trust me on that.

Trust me on that.

yeah, i feel you! It doesn't seem to bother a lot of LSU fans, but it sure bugs the crap out of me. It goes back to the never ending story of Les winning with Saban's players, but Meyer not winning with Zook's.... Grrrr

as long as he keeps losing, it doesn't really matter.

For what it's worth,I'd let my son play for him in a heartbeat. Hope he's still here in another 10 years.

It's probably because he's not as good of a coach as the three you mentioned.

All success Les has will always be excused away. If he won a National Championship this year, everyone would credit Chavis more than Les. ESPN hates him because he pwned them over the "Miles to Michigan" saga.
It's always going to be this way so get used to it. Miles is going to be here for at LEAST another 10 years.

No and who cares. Coaching is overrated, great players make great coaches, average players = not so good coaches.

Doesn't bother me one bit. I doubt it bothers him either, as long as we get the W's.

Really? How do you measure that? You have no facts to back that up. I'll give you this, Urban has 2 NC's and has won at every school he's coached at. Saban has 1 NC just like Miles. Richt doesn't have any NC's. Miles may or may not be as good as Meyer, but to say he's not in the same league with Saban or Richt is just plain dumb.

It used to bother me, doesn't anymore.

it does bother me a little bit. we all know he is a great coach, but i think another SEC title will prove it to everyone else. the respect will come with winning.

Think about this. No matter who you talk to, Frank Beamer is considered one of the better coaches of college football. He has exactly 0 NC's. He rode that POS Mike Vick to the big game but came up short to a much better Florida State team. You guys see where I'm going with this? Miles has a NC, Beamer does not, but I think most of the country would consider Beamer a better coach than Miles. And of course the facts don't necessarily support that view.

If every coach was on an equal playing field you could use things like NCs. He was put in an amazing situation at LSU and I think has underachieved with the talent he's had. You got a fluke MNC. LSU was the best team that year and deserved it, I'm not saying they didn't. He still managed to lose two games that year.
Face it, Les is winning because LSU is a great program. Not because Les Miles is a great coach. Just like y'all like to say about Saban, LSU has made Miles not the other way around.

Nope. Just win baby

quote:No. And, I think he is respected nationally. He is what he is. Until last year he was building a very strong record. Last year was a year where he did not build, and probably lost respect. He made some mistakes. I don't particularly like that, but the question now is wheather he can correct the mistakes and get the program back on the right track. I like what he's done, and I think he's going to be successful.

Remember Gerry Dinardo? He did a fine job until he had to replace his defensive coordinator. Lou Tupper did not work, and Dinardo made the mistake of sticking with him. It cost him his job. Coach Miles has not stuck with a system that obviously was not working. And, I believe he's hired an excellent staff to coach the talent he's recruited. Obviously this season is extremely important to gage Coach Miles. We can't have a season where the team is blown out like it was last year. Anyway, I like what he has done. I think he's a very good coach. And, I think we're lucky to have him. I look forward to verifying that with this season ahead.
