They rated Black as the #2 OL in the country, Scott #9, and Lafell #12. Not bad.

On the other hand, defense rankings were pretty poor. Petterson is not even on the list of top 25. And Miles was #17 head coach. Ouch.

I know, I know. Way too early to mean anything. I get the feeling that these rankings will change for the better very quickly when the season starts.

I find that laughable. LM is easily in the top ten. The problem with Miles is that the media portrays him as a dumbass. They know he's not, but they insist on playing that card. Gets kind of old, but oh well.

We are like that kid at school that gets picked last at dodge ball, or the cousin you invite to a party, but hope he really doesn't show up....
Rivals is BAMA run! So we will never get much love, or respect.

Miles was like #2 before last season.....Those change constantly and don't mean a thing.

Why would he be on the list?

He only started as a true freshman, beating out a veteran who runs a 4.3. He did a pretty good lock down job on just about everybody he covered. That includes Julio the few times he went up against him. Most of Julio's catches came when Hawkins was covering him.

I am truly not worried by this half-arse ranking anyway. Peterson will be a top 10 corner this year and at least one of the top 3 DB picks when he decides to go in the draft (crosses fingers) in 3 years.

I can understand it. The 8-5 season last year was a poor coaching performance, outside of RP's dismissal. With a better coached defense, we win more games. And, that has to be taken into consideration. I'm happy with him too. I think we were lucky to get him. But, I can easily understand their thinking.

If nothing else, this should give the players and coaches an extra incentive to go out there and prove everybody wrong. I hope it pisses off all of 'em and they go out there this fall and kick someone's arse.

for the same reason PP is not, just not enough film to evaluate. CJ has played several different positions & never looked comfortable last year. I agree with the majority that he will be exceptional this year at the safety position & would expect both of these guys to be high on that list next year at this time

How is Deandre brown the number 11 WR? I thought he completely fricked up his leg last year in a bad injury

DeAndre Brown is an absolute man among boys. He's the biggest receiver on that list and he has elite speed. He should be much much higher actually.

i agree...rankings don't matter....i think Miles likes the fact that the media underestimates him. He had done some "odd" things, but I think they are calculated (i.e., summer of 2007 when he called out USC for their soft conference schedule)

Amazing. Simply amazing. Common sense must not play much of a factor in these rankings.

Seriously, right?

I mean, I don't know what criteria they use for rankings, but in the only Miles vs. Johnson match-up, Miles and Co. made GTech look like a high school team.
