Former QB for Arizona State and Nebraska, Sam Keller, sues EA and NCAA claiming the games use the likeness of real college athletes against their will to enhance sales.

This is the same guy that didn't get drafted to the NFL and rides the bench in the AFL! What a joke!
W.W.T.D.? What would Tebow do?

I always hated that douchebag.
Just another reason to hate him more.
From the article:
They should probably get there facts straight since that is obviously wrong. Ridiculous.

Electronic Arts is not permitted to use player names and likeness,” Keller said. Yet the company “with the knowledge, participation and approval of the NCAA and Collegiate Licensing Co. extensively utilizes actual player names and likeness.”

what a jerk looking for a way to make money. i actually thought this guy could have been drafted late but i'm kinda glad he wasn't now. i just don't respect people that sue over some bogus crap.

ive never gotten an NCAA game with players actual names

But all the skin tones, heights, weights, visors, are accurate. Does that not qualify as likeness?

He won't win, but every lawsuit that exposes the profiteering dinosaur that is the NCAA is fine by me.

Didn't the NFLPA do this years ago to the madden franchise? So EA put out a version one year of just generic teams/names in the actual cities or general areas they played in?

why the hell would he even be pissed that they "supposedly" did this? Because his ratings in the game sucked, just like he did in real life?

well the reason he would be pissed that someone did this, is because he got no money for it. And EA made millions.
That is reason enough to get pissed about something like that for me.
But he is still a douche

Well they are licensed by the NCAA which basically owns all member schools/players. So they are within their legal rights to exploit the frick out of both.

I don't remember this.

As opposed to Nebraska making millions off of his QB playing abilities and him not getting a dime?
I figured football players would be thrilled to be in a video game, especially college players.
What a loser

i've downloaded rosters, but that's not the same.

How much is Sam Keller's likeness really worth? EA should send him a roll of pennies and tell him to STFU.

Maybe it was just for Sega Genesis

I would imagine the broke, udrafted, wash ups are pissed....A.K.A Sam Keller

maybe instead of calling the guy a douche, you should be asking why all of the players who are being exploited aren't getting a piece of the billion dollar pie the NCAA has? tv, video games, it is all a giant moneymaking machine that benefits everyone but the guys who keep it going--the players.
