What is with the LA Tech fans hatred of LSU?

Jealousy? Inferiority complex?
I have several friends who went to Tech, and even worked in business settings with former athletes of the school, and I can tell you the disdain for LSU is real.
There has never been a heated rivalry contest between the schools in any sport. In fact, the two schools rarely play each other. I don't think the feeling is mutual. In fact, i think many LSU pull for Tech in many games when they are not facing each other.

I have several friends that went to Tech also and they always give me crap about this is their year and if LSU would've played us in '98 we'd have smoked em. So I refuse to pull for Lousiana Polytechnic College-Ruston

Simple question, they go to Tech...
I'd stay up there and hang out at all 3 places they have if I were them.

I had a buddy almost get to blows in 'The Joe' during one of the Tech games. I was at the LSU vs. VaTech game and kept texting him the score and he would yell it out to all his buddies there. Finally some old man game and yanked him by the t-shirt and told him he was at a Tech game and if he wanted to know anything about LSU to get the f... out of the stadium....otherwise STFU. Seriously! My buddy was in so much shock he didn't know what to do. Anyway, I went to Tech and know what you're talking about but could never figure it out. I do think Tech could be a trap game for LSU this year though........looking at the way the schedule lines up.

LSU-ULL have that whole baseball rivalry going on. Something not true of LSU/LA Tech. There is no major rivalry in ANY SPORT between the two schools.

The rivalry for baseball is primarily between Tulane. Ulala isn't on their level in regard to a rivalry for any sport.

They are just mad because half the campus wears and displays LSU apparel and stuff around campus and because tech school spirit isnt that great. basically the same reasons usl fans dont like lsu

The baseball rivalry with ULL was short-lived and mostly centered around the Aaron Hill incident. Hell, they didn't even play us for 4 years or so; how is that a rivalry?

Whether it's penis envy, inferiority complex or just that they are miserable losers who take themselves too seriously, it's the same in Ruston and Lafayette.
AND, what's really interesting is that they each hate the comparison with one another at Tech and ULL!
They seem to recognize how pathetic the fans are at their sister school without being able to sense those same characteristics in themselves!
