Will LSU recruiting be helped if USC goes on Probation

NCAA has combined its investigations of two former USC star athletes into a single probe of the Trojans' athletic program, the Los Angeles Times reported.
The NCAA has been looking into allegations that Heisman Trophy winner Reggie Bush and NBA lottery pick O.J. Mayo both received improper benefits while at USC.
This could mean that the NCAA is looking into suspected serious "lack of institutional control" at USC which could lead to severe penalties such as forfeited games, lost scholarships, and post season bans etc.

There's only a few guys a year that are truly deciding between LSU and USC, so I guess it wouldn't hurt but if it helps anyone it's UCLA and Cal

I can't remember but did Louis Johnson, the agents, or promoters...whatever they were, did they have any connection to the school? I can't recall them being affiliated with USC. If they weren't, why punish the school?

wont affect LSU much in my opinion
maybe it affects 1 or 2 recruits in the future but the largest impact it be on the pac 10 schools and notre dame

exactly...maybe a couple of top flight Louisiana guys that would consider SC do not...IMO it helps UCLA a ridiculous amount if Neuhesial can make ANY progress whatsoever.

Yeah the NCAA will give us Joe Mcknight back so he can fumble for us instead. Really don't think it helps our recruiting much at all. It will just give LSU fans stuck in the past one less thing to bitch about.

If they put USC on probation it would truly be an historical event! Don't think it will happen.

I say Yes. It's the same as if any top program would be put on probation - puts everyone else in a better position.

USC was on probation when Carroll got the job. You act like USC has never been sanctioned ever no matter what

Would hurt my dream of playing them. The players know what they are allowed. Find away to punish the players not the school, unless the school or coaches sanctioned the indiscretions.
Just MO.

UCLA and Cal will benefit the most.

USC will not go on probation this comes up every year and it always just fades into the background

you should worry about Auburn stealing Texas' leftovers from you.

Hey Homo, Auburn does not steal anything from LSU--if you get anything it is our left-overs.
All those Auburn bcs crystal balls are like your clients teeth---missing!!!!!
By the way that tie---is TIRED!

A. Let's be for real, the NCAA won't do anything major to a cash cow/media queen like USC...maybe a COUPLE scholarships lost...probation, no ban on post-season (which would be the only thing to really drive recruits away)
B. We wouldn't benefit at all if USC got put on probation/sanctions...the PAC-9 would because if it's SERIOUS sanctions (which it likely wouldn't be) those recruits would mostly just stay out there...even if USC lost 5 scholarships per year over 3 years for a total loss of 15 and limit of 70 scholarships total in the final year...they're STILL likely a bit better off than any PAC-9 team, depth just hurts a bit
USC just has had a monopoly of talent out there for so long now it would take AT LEAST a post season ban for recruits to really look elsewhere
