Did I just read Arkansas took two games from #1 Arizonia State at ASU's place. That's pretty impressive. So obviously they're the real deal. What's our chances of catching them in the SEC West??

If we sweep them, and shadow the rest of their wins and losses, we win.

if we take 2/3, and then shadow them the rest of the season, we tie, and take the H2H against them.

arkansas hasnt played LSU, Georgia or Ole Miss yet, I think we can catch them pretty easily as long as we stay consistent.

Skip use to say that winning 2 of 3 every weekend (20-10 overall) will almost always win the SEC. We are on that pace so far.

Arkansas still has to play LSU, Georgia, Ole Miss and Bama. They have feasted on the lesser teams in the SEC. Hoping Vandy takes at least one from them this weekend. We can definitely catch them.

Agreed but....Arkansas has played a tougher schedule than LSU so far.

Arkansas RPI: 2
LSU RPI: 11

Arkansas SOS: 6
LSU SOS: 27

Arkansas OOC SOS: 1
LSU OOC SOS: ?

Arkansas does not need to face Georgia, with an RPI of 20 and SOS of 99, or LSU and Ole Miss to prove itself at this point.

When you are 24-6 Overall, 10-2 SEC, 7-1 PAC 10, and sweep the #1 team in the nation you don't have to prove your good. Ole Miss and LSU may sweep Arkansas but not playing them yet doesn't take away from Arkansas being head and shoulders the best team in the country right now.

I think the Hogs should be number 1 right now. They would get my vote if I had one.

We just did the exact same thing, except replace Arizona State with Georgia. Yeah, we'll catch them.

I don't think the point of the topic was to compare the strength of Arkansas schedule. Nobody said that they were not a good baseball team. It was just pointed out that LSU has went through the tough part of the SEC before Arkansas did.

So I believe the answer to the questions of the thread is, YES we can catch Arkansas if we keep winning every series we should, while sweeping a few of them.

It was at Baum.

NCAA record non-conference attendance and mid-week attendance, 11,014. 19,365 two day total.

Plenty of time left.. and we all have been victims and receivers of horribly skids or great winning streaks (like LSU had last year) so who knows what will happen.

Totally agree.

This is wide open. Ole Miss, LSU, and Arkansas all have the same shot, IMHO.

I really could care less about a SEC championship.. Its a nice bonus but any team in the top 10 should be playing to reach Omaha.

When you win 2 of 3 it is not considered a sweep.

If you are talking about Arkansas, they won 2 of 2.

I believe he was talking about taking 2 games from the #1 team he never said sweep.. Who is to say if Ark played a 3rd game they would win that one too? So basically comparing 2 wins vs 2 wins is fair.

My bad I thought I saw somewhere Arky played them in three games and took two of the three. My fault I retract my previous statment.
