Will it ever get to the point where they refuse to play in this game?

although it wont happen, it would be AWESOME to see them refuse for lack of competition and interest

might FINALLY set the Big10 in its rightful place....with the MAC

Lack of interest? Far from the truth.

When LSU won's it's two BCS NC's, they did not play REAL teams? Has LSU played a REAL team in a bowl in the past 20 years?

I doubt it. Other than last year, SC typically plays trop 5 teams in the Rose Bowl. They cannot help it if they pound those teams. Other than trying to waltz through a small game in the last three years, they are dominant.

As iyt should be SC's goal each yeare is to first win the PAC-10 and let everything else take care of iteslt. At the beginning of the season, that is the ONLY thing they have complete control over. They win the PAC-10, then tyey put themselves in a much better place in trying to win a NC.

its funny how everyone keeps saying USC never plays anybody good, yet we have played the exact teams that LSU has, like oklahoma and ohio state, ND, guess they havent played anyone good either

No, not even if a playoff is implemented. The chairman of the Pac-10 said that if a playoff was institued, the Pac-10 would not participate. Of course he said this 2 years ago.

This is an interesting point. If OSU and USC both win their respective conferences, they will most likely play again in the Rose (I don't think either has a legitimate NC shot this year). If the first game is a blow-out, there may be no interest in a second game outside their own fanbases.

New chairman now. He already said he is more than open to the possibility of a playoff. Good start on his part.

His first order of business should be get pacten out of their pathetic bowl tie-ins. Rose and Holiday are solid but the rest are crap.

just b/c ESPN promotes it every 2 minutes of every day leading up to it, doens't mean that actual fans are interested.

it is interesting to people in California and the state in which the Big 10 team comes from.
the rest of the big 10 teams are playing on this side of the mississippi for the most part.

the rest of the country watches their team play, i don't know how many casual fans watch USC beat the crap out of an overrated and slow Big 10 team.

It's like asking, "Will LSU ever stop playing in the SEC Championship Game?"

Well, if they don't win their conference (division)... yes, they will stop playing in the SEC Championship Game. If they continue to win their conference (division) they will keep playing in it.

If USC keeps winning their conference, barring an undefeated season, they will likely keep playing in the Rose Bowl.

I probably didn't need to explain it like that but whatever there it is.
