should get the ball 25-30 times a game. This will allow for better ball control and make the defense better with less timeon the field.

He is top 5 talent, but has not been used correctly.

MDS, can you reply with words? Be original.

Fact is, if Bush is all-pro, Saints will make a strong playoff run. He will be all-pro if used correctly.

I agree...to many touches is causing his injuries.

Reggie doesn't need 25 touches to be effective...its all about timing and play calling.

you claim ball control.....

This has been discussed time and again on this board, which is the reason for my lack of "words". Since I see you're new here, I will respond to this one more time though.

A guy who lead the league in drops in 2007 and is proficient at putting the ball in the other teams' hands is not what I would call "ball control" or "top 5 player". a guy who averaged 3.6, 3.7 and 3.8 yards/carry in each of his first 3 seasons is not what i'd call "great" or "top 5". A guy who averaged 8.4, 5.7 and 8.5 yards/reception is not what I'd label as "great" or "top 5".

You are still blinded by what you saw in his USC days, but you're not paying attention to his Saints days. This guy has missed holes that Ray Charles would have seen.

I swear he is listening to ABBA when he's running, because all he does is dance. He runs laterally too often and hits the sidelines with consistency. If the sidelines were an endzone, he'd be an all pro!

With that said, I saw signs of a good RB last year and hope he gains some consistency. But please, stop with the adulations of "top 5 player" for a guy that so far has been a bust. And please don't say Payton doesn't know how to use him. He has put Bush in more unique positions and given him more opportunities than he ever should have; Bush has just failed at his job

The line 'he's not bieng used correctly' is as tired as Kerry's "I have a plan" - great - what is it? How is Bush suppose to be used?

Return game? Check.
Swing routes / flares? Check.
Sweeps / end arounds? Check.
High number of touches? Check.

Are you trying to say the Saints should hand the ball off to Reggie 25-30 times a game? When he has a 3.7 ypc average & 11 attempts per game now? When he fumbles once every 32 attempts?

I think all of you are blind if you think the Saints' only problem is Reggie Bush... There are plenty more finger pointing to go around than to sit around bashing one guy out of 53...

Kornhole (and it pains me to say this) was right about Reggie; he's a game changer. He's not a grind-it-out 30 carries/game back and never will be. The goal with Reggie should be to get him in space with the ball 8-12 times a game with some runs up the middle sprinkled in.

I've never read anyone suggesting this. We are pointing out that he has been overrated and not lived up to his draft status, but that doesn't mean he's the reason behind our woe's the last 2 years. He has been a cause at times, along with poor blocking, bad run defense and an inability to cover a corpse

Please tell me, at what point in his football career has Reggie ever shown that he is capable of 25-30 carries?
And Ball Control? You wanna talk about Ball control? Ball Control?
Reggie wouldn't know ball control if it ran him out of bounds.

Whenever he decides to show up for voluntary OTAs and dedicate himself and give 100% this year. Wait. With Reggie, it'll always be .

Reggie was most effective when......

....he was paired with Duece. The dual threat of the two backs kept defenses honest and made them BOTH better. The threat that Reggie presented kept defenses from jamming the line to stop Duece. IMO unless Reggie has a Duece type back to pair with, he will never live up to his expectations.
