I still think he should be used solely for blitzing or flat coverage. We can use him more in that way as to him covering the field deep.

I know what you're saying based on the hype.....But its not his fault he was playing 4 different positions last year....He is now where he should be and I think it will definitely be seen in his production.

its not Chad's fault that Miles hired his retard buddies last year instead of hiring the best coach he could

I'm pretty sure Miles was after continuity on defense. Who here honestly knew that Pelini was 99% of the defensive coaching ability in 2007?

Not man here, but after all, it is Miles' job to know things like this.

Miles isn't a defensive coach, and I'm sure he followed Pelini's advice.

Exactly. The timing sucked, being as it was during title game preps.

Defensive coach or not, an HC should have an idea of the abilities of his staff. It's not like Mallory and Peveto were average. They were a fricking disaster.

But they were only exposed as coordinators, and co-coordinators at that.

Basically, Pelini was the glue of the 2007 defense.

which aint sayin' much truthfully considering our defense got hung half hundred on twice...that would have never happened in 03 through 06...we still won a championship so no gripes about it, but i'm not going to be satisfied until we can bring back our defense of 2006

Both times were in 2 OT's, and after we had a spate of injuries to our DL.

When we were healthy, we were pretty good.
