Utah Jazz

Is this going to be a legit contender in the playoffs or are they just on fire for now? No one can touch them right now! To make things worse, Marc Jackson (a HOF PG himself) claimed Deron Williams as the best PG in the league!

they're legit but not good enough to take down the spurs or lakers IMO. their record, particularly their home record, is inflated.
and i love getting their fans worked up by touting CP3's superiority to dwill

They're legit. They were just injured early on. 2nd best team in the West imo.

Depends on what you mean by legit contender. I think they are a contender to make it to the WCF but not win the west and certainly not a title.

I think they are without a doubt a contender, not just for the West, but to win it all. The Lakers are great and have to be the favorites, but they haven't proven to be absolutely dominant, especially without Bynum.
The Jazz have one of the best PGs in the game, an all-star just getting healthy, a great bench, and an amazing home court advantage. If they can manage to find their game on the road, watch out.
I know that they are the team I most fear as a Hornets fan. I would rather play LA in a series than Utah. I know that's a bold statement that few of you will agree with, but I think they are extremely impressive.

meh, their home record is always incredibly inflated. they tend to catch teams on road trips on the second night of a back to back more than any other team in the league due to their location and their refusal to play home games on sundays.
they've got a nice 11 game win streak, but if you look at it a little bit deeper it's not as impressive as it would seem at first glance. they've had 8 home games in that time frame, in 5 of them they've caught their opponent in that exact situation. teams on long road trips playing on the second night of a back to back, sometimes on their 4th game in 5 days. the only decent teams they've beaten in their win streak without this advantage are boston and atlanta, both also home games. on the road they've played some pretty bad teams recently.
i expect them to return to earth as soon as they play a few decent teams on the road or catch some well rested quality opposition at home

With the Nuggets and Blazers fading just a bit, Utah will win that division and get the home court in Round 1. They should be able to handle whoever they get in the first round, and I think they can beat the Spurs if they can work their way up to the 2 seed.

The Jazz are the favorite "sleeper team" of people who don't know shite about the NBA.
They will lose to the Lakers or Spurs in Round 2.

The Jazz suck arse on the road. If they don't have homecourt advantage in a series, their done.

They have handled the hornets easily in their two meetings this year.

Both in Utah and on back-to-backs I believe.

I didn;t know that. Sounds like a bunch of bullshite to me.

It is bullshite - and very unfair.
The Jazz consistently have one of the highest discrepencies of home record v's road record and it's primarily thanks to the Mormon religion.
They are so overrated and I laugh at how Hornets fans have this irrational fear of the Jazz. I pray we get them in the 2nd round somehow instead of SAS or LAL.

How so? They didn't have their 2 best players playing together at the beginning of the year due to injuries. Now they're basically even with HOU, NOR, POR and DEN.

The Hornets would lights out kick their arse in the playoffs.. April 5th we will also whip that arse in the Hive!

They looked pretty good last year in the playoffs. What makes you believe that that fear is so irrational? They certainly have our number during the Chris Paul era.
