The Watchmen Sucked

probably my 3rd biggest let down of all time behind
1. matrix 2
2. attack of the clones
there was just nothing beneath the surface of this movie, and the surface wasn't anything special. just a typical hero/action movie that attempted to have an existential examination of humanity and evil
characters: sucked. the only one worth a shite was the comedian, and even he was flat as hell
story: unoriginal and uncreative. it was also boringly predictable. you knew who the bad guy was the first time he was announced on screen openly. very disjointed also.
it was also long with a lot of unecessary shite. i don't care if it was in the graphic novel: it still wasn't necessary. this movie could have shed about 45-60 minutes and lost nothing (and gained a lot of fluidity)

Did you really have such high expectations? Sin City was probably the best film of this genre, and even that wasn't anything too special.

it at least had originality going for it, and creativity
the clive owen part sucks, but the mickey rourke part is pretty stunning for a variety of reasons. the willis part was pretty good also

Watchmen wasnt a letdown for me but it didnt fulfill expectations either. Def. not one of Snyder's best.

How did you have high expectations after The Phantom Menace?
Posted on 3/8/09 at 8:04 pm to The Godfather
phantom menace wasn't nearly as bad as people make it out to be (it was the best of the prequels) and i thought it could only get better. AOTC was one of the worst movies ever made

Almost certain case for worst SW movie, or even worst movie by Lucas. But ever? Seriously?

have you read the graphic novel? i read it and was let down after all of the hype. if it really is the best graphic novel i definitely won't be reading any more
Posted on 3/8/09 at 8:09 pm to SlowFlowPro
AOTC is definitely the worst star wars movie.

I thought the Revenge of the Sith was the best of the prequels

no i judge this just as a film
i assume that the graphic novel is just as boring, uncreative, and predictable

The movie had a little too much blue dong...
Posted on 3/8/09 at 8:24 pm to jglass3lsu
were you really bothered by that? I didn't see the movie, but I can't imagine it was anything awe or angst-inspiring.
I guess insecure people shouldn't see this movie.

you just like blue dick, you can admit it

The glowing-blue naked person stands out just a little when everyone else has their clothes on.

it's just a projection of how he sees himself, tanned blue with a perfect physique and pornstar schlong

But unless for some reason your eyes are drawn to it looking for it, it is missed.
Dude is entirely blue, with no changes in shade. It is "camouflaged" and they deliberately edited it such that the dick wouldn't have been a focal point in movements. Was only really overt in a shot or two.
