Didn't Take Long for New Box to Lose Its Magic

My goodness we get spanked in our own stadium by a middle of the road Big 10 team. They've been snowed in for most of their practices. Really embarrassing for the former #1 team.
Maybe this is a wakeup call or maybe it's a dose of reality.

I wouldn't call it a spanking. And how quickly we forget barely beating the likes of Indiana and Stetson...

Stadium "magic" does not win or lose games. Bad baseball does lose games. We certainly did not play well at times this weekend, but I still maintain that we will be just fine and we will be a better team for our two losses to the Illini. I am just not a doom and gloom person- I wasn't this past football season and I really believe that our damn strong baseball team will get their ship righted and we will all be happy!

Anyone who follows baseball knows that even the best teams lose games, sometimes many games. The pitcher makes all the difference in the outcome. The key is to try to get better and consistant as the year goes on.

we weren't going to win them all... these losses will mean a stronger team when the SEC season begins...
this coach has this team in the right direction... perhaps now he'll manage more - I am a huge fan of 'the box' as baseball destination for other programs...
it would be awesome for southern cal, university of texas, wichita state and others to travel for 'preseason' series in the not-so-distant future
hope we can be gracious hosts for a southern cal visit but it might be tough...

New stadiums don't have magic. Our players and fans barely know the stadium better than the opposition.
