which major american sports have the dumbest athletes?

logically you'd have to say baseball and basketball because both have a lot of players who never went to college or went for a year.

3) Football

Agreed. Driving a car around an oval for 3 hours is not a sport, nor does it require athleticism.

From my listening experience, baseball players are usually the best interviewees. The ones who actually give a frick and don't just wing it like Manny usually offer a lot of good insight.
I'd say this has to go to basketball because of the relative lack of education.
I have found that it seems those who have the most passion for the sport, whichever that may be, tend to be the best-informed and most intelligent individuals. And at least if they aren't, they are silently foolish rather than trying to prove it.

Basketball is by far the dumbest. Normally football and baseball players are pretty intelligent, especially pitchers and QBs, normally...
I know at my school I work at we did a little research on the topic and found that tennis, swimmers and soccer players had the highest GPAs six straight years. Men's basketball, men's track and football were the three lowest...

yep, all those line calls, I thinks thats why alot of O linemen become great coaches
I think QB's were like 3rd on this list (football)
My guess would be Guards are the smartest ballers
I dont think baseball has enough difference position to position to make that much of a diff,, but I woulod think catchers have to have some smarts
