that was sweet. Worked for an interstate p/l at the time with a ton of engineers from Ga Tech who thought they were above everyone.

I was at work closing up with this blaring on the radio. Hawthorne was going nuts and then just sat there in disbelief and laughed. You couldn't wipe the smile off my face!

Wasn't that the team with Varitek on it?

I was on that team, we kicked their arse. There coach was throwing shite all over the dugout. Bertman didn't say shite to us, and he would never tell us to get out on purpose.

Gorilla Ball days.....

I was on I-10 to N.O. to my girlfriend's parents' house. She turned the station off...we broke up soon thereafter.

There is no way someone would turn off a baseball game that I was listening to. That is unacceptable behavior right there!!!!

I don't recall how many pitchers GT used that inning (5-6 I believe), but I recall the GT coach going out to the mound to meet the next pitcher each time and hand him the ball. Everytime, he said "There's one out". He kicked the dirt on the mound a couple of times too. Poor guy.

We need details you just can't say "I was on the team" and leave it at that.

As was I (though I was alone on my way home). I lost the signal outside of Baton Rouge just at the beginning of the inning, and by the time I picked it up again in New Orleans I assumed the game would be over. I couldn't believe it was the same inning. That was insane.
