McComb and just south of McComb to around Magnolia. Be sure to ask for the mineral rights when you purchase the land. There is a large pool of oil (billions of gallons) from McComb south to St. Helena parish, La. The people who are selling the land in this area are trying to keep the mineral rights. In Mississippi they can retain minerial rights for 35 years unless you have it in your purchase agreement. The technology is advanced enough now to drill around the thick layer of shale. Prior to now, it was not cost effective to drill through the shale.

I'll get specifics about the land avaliable in that area if you want. My friend has been buying in that area.
