actually killens doesn't have an offer from anyone. Anyone know if he has grade issues?
Posted on 2/27/09 at 11:09 pm to dranknpurple
He has a 3.0 and from what I hear he scored very well on his SAT. Cant figure this one.

prolly cause we are still in Febuary, 2009.

You thought he was a stud because he's done a great job a promoting himself by attending combines, camps, and talking to recruiting outlets at every opportunity. Maybe this will help to explain the lack of offers:
San Antonio, TX
January 5, 2009
Height: 6-foot-2.8
Weight: 201 pounds
40-yard dash: 5.14 seconds
Shuttle speed: 4.62
Vertical leap: 29"
BTW, his website has him with a 3.0 GPA, SAT 1930, and graduating in December.

Even Lache was .2 to .25 seconds slower on that day on that field. I still think he will be a good player where ever goes. I just hope it's LSU.

i know 40 times arent everything, but you have to bring some speed to the table. unless he backpeddled this time, may be more of a sunbelt player than SEC

Funny, his website (I can't believe I just wrote that) lists his vert at 33" and his 40 at 4.61, not 5.12. That's a huge difference, especially in his 40.
I can't wait to start a website hyping my 3 year old son.

Interesting enough I have seen this kids play basketball and ram the ball with ease. Not something you normally do on a 29" vert. I wonder what happened at the combine that we don't know. I do know that all of the stats at the combine were low due to the new testing apparatus.

oh god. who's was that quarterback that awhile back put his LSU offer on his website? then he listed the reasons he should be ranked the best player in the country...

Hmmm. Maybe something worth looking into. If everyone's stats dropped, it's gotta be the format.
Still, though, I'm uncomfortable with high school kids marketing themselves like this. Yeah, yeah, I know it's a multi-million dollar business and this is the way it's done now, but I just haven't gotten used to it.

Didn't we have an All-SEC linebacker who ran an above 5 sec forty. Who does he play for now?

Whoa, whoa, whoa. Let's not get into name calling.
I know that Killens has put up good numbers at previous combines, but even adjusting generously for a slow track, it's a significant negative change. Unfortunately, he'll probably have to hit the camp circuit hard again to re-prove himself (and show that he can add muscle to his frame).

Maybe the kid had a bad combine. Who knows but I do know the kid can play and play very well. Some schools will pass him up and pass up a big time contributor. That's the way the ball bounces. To castigate a high school player based on incomplete information is really an interesting tact though.

I thought a 1600 was the highest score?
Posted on 2/28/09 at 4:06 pm to TheHiddenFlask
They added the writing section a few years ago, so the top score is now a 2400. So basically a 1930 is the equivalent of a 1280 or 1290 on the old format (assuming his writing score was in the same range as math and verbal).
