To borrow the phrase from Jeff Mead, they have created a permission structure for violence. The media and politicians have painted the right out to be worse than what the left is so that whatever they do, they think it's actually for the betterment of society. At this point, the only variable is how long the right is going to continue to sit by and wait for others to do something.
