As an 18 handicap, what wedges would you recommend I carry?
I’ve currently got a 54 for a 90ish club and 58 for around the green
Thanks

What's the loft of your PW and do you have anything between the PW and 54?
Game improvement and players distance PW's are now 42-45 degrees. I'd be looking for something like a 48 or 50 Gap Wedge to bridge that gap.
58's are great for being short sided, getting out of bunkers, having to carry a sprinkler head, landing it soft, etc., but I use a 46 and 52 degree more than the 58 if it's basic run of the mill pitches or chips.

I like 54 and 58 for my sand/lob wedges. Less loft is usually safer around the green so its a good set up. I end up using the 54° for probably 80% of my shots inside 50 yards.

Personally, I use 48°, 52°, & 56° Vokey wedges

I've actually have PW and a 48 deg in my Titleist t150 irons, then carry a 50-54-58 wedge set up. I hit the 48 about 115-120yds, 50 around 105yds, 54 around 95yds, and 58 around 87yds on full swing. Don't hit long enough in my woods, so have room in the bag for a lot of wedge options.

Go find some used vokeys. 54.08 and 58.08. Once you get a little better, buy a newer set.

I carry a lot of wedges
My PW is 43 degrees and usually my 130-135 club
46- 120-125
50- 110-115
54- 95-105- chipping from around the green- packed sand bunkers
60- won this as a door prize and prefer it to the 58 I carried. Lot of bounce so I like pitching with it and like it from soft sand bunkers
I currently carry a 3W and 5W too because my 7 iron is out of commission and I never got around to replacing it. I'll take the 3W out when the time comes, but I really like having the versatility of the wedges because those 60 and in shots I'm shockingly really good at . The rest of my game pretty much sucks, but I've got good feel for sticking one close when I get near the green.
In your case, if you have a game improvement set then your PW is probably between 43-45 degrees. That's a pretty big gap from there to your 54. I'd probably look into something in that 48-50 degree range

This is exactly what I carry. My PW is 44*, so it works our perfect.
