Looking to take kids to a rangers game this July and getting overwhelmed with the amount of hotel choices. Kids are 9 and 7 so definitely want one with a pool. Found some really great places but their weekend rates are over $1k

Seeing if anybody got some good recs in the $400-500 range per night. Could even do separate places if it’s easier to do one night in Arlington. Any help is appreciated. Dates are July 9-12th

You are probably here during the World Cup so prices are going to be sky high. Maybe push your visit to late July when the WC is over. Are you wanting to stay in Dallas proper? I would suggest looking in Ft Worth which is closer to Arlington and a better city for tourists.

Just realized it’s during the final games of World Cup. Guess we won’t be doing that this year

Not so fast my friend!

If all you're really doing downtown is the game, you can stay at the Gaylord Texas in Grapevine for about $360 a night on those dates. It's got a water park, and a ton of stuff to do to keep the kids occupied. The aquarium is less than minutes away, etc.

ETA, I was thinking hockey, but then realized it was about snoozeball. There is also the Great Wolf Lodge in the same area of Grapevine that is an option, but I haven't stayed there.

I just stayed at the Hampton Inn in Mesquite, TX. It’s a fine hotel with a free breakfast (not that great TBH, but for kids it will do. I’m sure it’s a short drive to your arena.

I had a double king suite for under $300 for two nights. Had a fridge,, kitchen sink, microwave, pullout couch in the living room.

I was really impressed.

ETA: just checked and a two double bed suite is $167/nt. for your dates(plus taxes/fees of course).

I assume you've checked the Loews right there at the park? We love to stay there when we go.

Yep checked that one out first. Checked the rates for last week and they were a few hundred dollars and then checked the dates we wanted to go and they were well over $1k. Closer to $2k if I remember correctly

Main thing I would like to know, and not sure if it can be answered, is how crazy will traffic be everywhere during the World Cup? I don’t want to spend half our vacation stuck in traffic

Have you been to Dallas? When is traffic "good?" 8AM on a Sunday morning?

Seriously, it shouldn't be any worse, and may be better, than a Cowboys game. Dallas is one of those places where there are 8 ways to get to anywhere, from anywhere. You'll be fine.
