Jackson must not know what Oil and Gas or Chevron is to have agreed with this.

“These 11 cases require decisions by a federal court and we intend to pursue this avenue as aggressively as we will pursue the other cases in state court. Simply changing where the case will be heard, as has happened, will not deter our efforts to have Big Oil held accountable for the damages they caused and the enormous restoration they owe the people of Louisiana,” Carmouche said.

Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill represented the state in the lawsuit.

“A jury in one of the most conservative, pro-oil and gas communities in the country found that Chevron was liable for billions of gallons of toxic waste dumped into the Louisiana marsh,” Murrill said. “It doesn’t matter whether this case is in state court or federal court — I am confident the outcome will be the same.”

They won't have an elected judge with campaign coffers full of plantiff attorney money with his thumb on the scale relative to:

Motions In Limine
Daubert motions
Jury instructions
Evidentiary rulings during the trial

And a jury venire much broader than Plaquemines Parish.

Not sure that’s a positive for Chevron here.

There is no drilling for oil in Louisiana because following the law gets you sued out the wazoo. In fact, all of the barge drilling rigs have been sold. A few barge workover rigs remain.

O&G brings money into the state. Attorneys only siphon it off and drive away tax revenue and jobs. Attorneys raise the cost of everything.

They aren’t even close to the same. We can live without attorneys a lot better than we can without O&G.
