Can someone please explain the deliberate awkwardness of all the characters in this movie. Is it a style done in some psychological movies to make you feel like you’re in a different universe or something to make you feel uncomfortable?

All of Lanthimos' movies except for like 2 have the strange dialogue. You either love it or hate it.
