Is this a good cpu for running fedora
quote:This is far too vague. How many VMs, 2 or 20 or 200? What are they running? This could range anywhere from 10X overkill on the cpu to you need a cluster of 100 of them.

intel or amd cpu doesn't matter for linux. They are both well supported.

I don't think you're getting the picture. "Gaming" is WAAAY too vague. Are you installing GOG and playing Civ IV, playing Roblox, or trying to play Space Marine 2?
Router emulators run fine in browser tabs.

I'll defer to guys who know a lot more than me about what you need, but it would hurt my feelings to pay current DDR5 prices to build a system around a four year old mid range processor.

Not a gamer but if you’re not getting a dedicated GPU, the integrated GPUs on mobile chips are about 4x larger than what is typically found on desktops. A little Core Ultra H mini might fit the bill without making the office look like a kid’s room or making noise or heat. AMD might have something like that too but I wouldn’t know.
