Unbelievable LSU hitting stats for tonight

6 infield pop ups
6 fly ball outs to outfield
11 strike outs
I don't think I've ever seen a game with only one infield assist

This is a really bad baseball team 
Going to have to hope the freshmen class and portal are elite because this otherwise will be a couple year rebuild. Not a very young or talented team.

LSU baseball should never be this bad. I love Jay but boy he fudged up this year. These portal guys fooled Jay big time.

What happens when you win a title.
When will you guys learn that this isn’t about just portal rebuild. High school recruiting and development is huge. This is a really young team. Losing Curiel and Brown to the draft is gonna hurt tho. Pearson is eligible but his arse isn’t getting drafted high.

One of those was a sac fly, at least. LSU doesn't really have a traditional hitting problem; they have a timely hitting problem. RISP hitting needs to be a lot better with the pitching depth we have. And last night, Evans and Cowan did more than enough for LSU to win. Fielding and hitting let them down.

Some of that is because the Ole Miss third baseman was terrible. He booted several ground outs.

See what happens when you hit ground balls? Why wasn't the entire team smoking ground balls? The 3B had no problem catching popups.
But we've got guys who will hit 7-8 home runs this year swinging out of their shoes like they are going to break Brandon Larson's school record for home runs in a season.
