Black man sentenced for fake hate crime

If tweet fails to load, click here. A federal judge in Denver sentenced a black man to only 46 months in federal prison on April 1 for carrying out a hate crime hoax to benefit black Colorado Springs mayoral candidate @yemiformayor, who then won over the Republican white candidate.
Derrick Bernard Jr. burned a cross in front of Yemi Modolade's campaign sign, which was defaced with a racial slur. Bernard promised Mobolade he would help him win. Modolade did win, but he claims it was because he ran a good campaign. He was never charged.
Bernard is already in state prison for a 2019 murder.
