He just went through the divisions of ICE that aren’t actually funded through the BBB. This was just one major core division. ICE is funded, but not able to function.
Thune fricked the house GOP and ran off on vacation.
We do not hate Thune and the senate RINOs enough.

Basically all ICE can do right now is help the TSA because their core divisions aren’t funded.

That explains a lot, because my understanding had always been that the OBBB completely funded ICE through the end of 2027.
...and yet both sides told us that the stalemate we're witnessing now is because of ICE funding. But they wouldn't clarify it, of course.
I'm not surprised that the Democrats are fighting against funding for child predator hunters. And, conversely, I'm pleasantly surprised that the GOPe is actually fighting FOR the funding.

I can’t find any evidence that ICE has a separate child sex predator division, and no evidence that any part of ICE was excluded from the supplemental funding by the OBBB.

I think he’s confused by talking points handed to him.
There is not an HCI division of ICE.
There is an HSI division and it was included (no evidence of it being excluded) in the OBBB. That division does investigate child sex crimes.
He might be trying to say ICE does not yet have full year funding (only supplemental funding from the OBBB), but we all know that. I can’t find any evidence of any responsibilities that ICE cannot carry out as a result of the funding they have due to the OBBB. They still need regular appropriation funding so they can grow.
