Looking For Cabin Within 5-7hr Drive From New Orleans

King of piggy backing my Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge post. It’s very short notice but looking for a quick getaway Easter weekend. Boys won’t have baseball or spring football practice for a couple days and we trying to find a cabin not terribly far from New Orleans area.
We’ve only rented cabins in Pigeon Forge area, does Arkansas or north Alabama have anything worth going to?
What about Chattanooga, is it worth the drive for a quick long weekend? Would leave Good Friday morning and come back Tuesday.
Open to any other suggestions. Boys ages are 16 and 13 if that matters. Thanks!

What about Chattanooga
Chattanooga is a great weekend getaway. See Rock City, Ruby Falls, etc.

Arkansas
Buffalo River area, but that's closer to 9 hours

north Alabama
Fort Payne has Little River Canyon. It's very similar to the Smokies
New Braunfel's area is also within that 7 hour drive. Great tubing and close to San Antonio. The water might be too cold for tubing though.

THIS AREA IS THE ONE. Ft. Payne, Mentone, Little River Canyon. Cool stuff on the plateau extension of Lookout Mountain. Little River Canyon view:
DeSoto State Park has really nice cabins; some log, some woodframe, some chalet style:
We stayed in a chalet one time when we were up there for a wedding, just outside the cabin you could hike down to a nice creek that was great for swimming:
LOTS of cool things to see and do in that area-- waterfalls, hiking, etc.
Link to the state park website.

Their are also a lot of private AirBNB/VRBO cabins for rent, too.

Arkansas does. The closest to you would be Heber Springs either around Greer's Ferry Lake or the Little Red River. It is probably farther than 7 hours drive for you though.

NW Arkansas absolutely does but it's a bit more than 5-7 hrs from NO.

Look into Broken Bow, OK.
I think it’s like 6-7 hours from Houma. We went after Christmas and had a good time. Not a whole lot to do but relaxing.

What’s there to do in broken bow? The wife mentioned it but I didn’t really pay attention to what she said.

Is it you that has a rental cabin there?
McComb is 20mins from my hunting camp.

no but the one we like the best is owned by a poster here. It’s off Brandi Road I’m pretty sure we book it on Airbnb

It’s a very small Gatlinburg.
There’s a cool drive around safari that my 2.5 year old loved. Really just a bunch of tourist stuff. We didnt do much but enjoy the cabin and the area.
If you can find a cabin off of North Lukfata Trail Road just north of town, there is a cool brewery and winery that are a short drive (almost walking distance) from the cabins.

Looks like we headed to Broken Bow. From what I seen should be a nice lil get away.

We went 2 years ago and found it to just be ok. Wasn’t much to do with the boys besides pull them on a tube in the lake.
We hiked a few trails, swam and pulled each other in a tube from a party barge we rented. Wasn’t a terrible trip just not much for 2 teenage boys to do. We did like the laid back atmosphere.

Not much at all to do in Broken Bow.
You know your kids. If they need tourist stuff to be entertained, don't go there.
If they can entertain themselves hiking, fishing, etc. then it would be a fun trip.

Gotcha, Me and my S/O went and liked the laid back style of it. Definitely would be a different trip with active boys
