Looks like they are starting with some of the less expensive resorts, but let’s see how it goes

Meh, I don't know if that is going to help things... Seems like that is going to attract the same crowd that post-covid did.

The simple fix would be room rates and resort fees. I remember getting the Bellagio for $88 pretty consistently just prior to Covid. Could get the Mirage for $35 or free days occasionally too.

Free food and tickets to shitty shows are just going to bring in the trash once again.

I've been going to Las Vegas for almost 30 years for trade shows and conventions and it's crazy to see how the casino floors have fallen off the map when it comes to large amounts of people playing.

I was at Mandalay last October and earlier this week for conventions and the floors at Luxor and Mandalay were dead. And I mean D.E.A.D.

One of Austin's main thoughts behind tearing down the old convention center and building a much larger newer one was to steal more conventions away from Vegas - if other cities are able to do the same and put an even bigger dent into the TS/Conv business that Vegas has, then I'm not sure there's a reason to go to Vegas anymore unless you are a degenerate.

Well foot traffic in Vegas was down last year. I know I've posted in here, but room occupancy was like 85% for 2025 and for the first 2 months of 2026, its been hovering at 75%.

Gambling was up last year thanks to high rollers, but so far this year, its down.

It's ridiculous to think that guests who can only afford to stay at the cheaper hotels would be able to afford to play $25/hand at blackjack in the middle of the day.

Walking to the Mandalay conv. center, we passed $10 tables - dead. Middle of the day and after dinner.

But even the slots are dead.

Mandalay has the disadvantage of being nearly mile down the strip from Tropicana Blvd. It doesn’t see nearly the foot traffic as the central strip casinos because of that. It always seems to be dead except for game days at Allegiant.

I walked down there once... Reason I loved the Mirage. It was central to everything and relatively cheap.

Im in Vegas right now. We always stay at Caesars because my wife and her cousin are Seven Stars card people.

I've been to Vegas dozens of times and have never stepped foot in a Vegas pool. I don't go there for "resort" amenities. Hell the Choctaw Casino pool back home in Oklahoma has a better pool than pretty much any place on the strip.

We only go to Vegas to meet up with friends and party, gamble and eat at good restaurants. Not resort shite. If I wanted to go to a resort, I'd go to th3 Caribbean.

Stadium Swim would maybe make you change your mind.

Isn't that the one in Circa downtown? Ive been there a while back to their rooftop bar.

I'm sure it's ok and I like downtown Vegas f9r what it is, but I'm sure as shite not getting in a pool in a downtown casino. I don't get excited about the idea of standing in a waist deep pool of drunk people's piss.

ETA--if we're talking about the same place, Circa's sports book and its set up is one of the best in Vegas.

Eating at Giada tonight, not my favorite but the ribeye is solid. We have reservations for 12 at Herbs and Rye tomorrow. And Amalfi and Nobu on Monday.

I'm going to eat well the next few days for sure.

The downvoters that have the sack to respond, just downvote will be interested to know instead of the ribeye, I had the Creste di Gallo at Giada earlier tonight. It was quite good.

But if youre ever at The Cromwell, go to the bar in the back and have a raspberry chocolate martini. You're welcome.
