I dont know. African immigrants are great contributors to this country. They aren't here for welfare. The typical African immigrant is more well off than the average white person in this country. I dont think they are the problem.
EDIT: To clarify it is mainly african countries not named somalia that provide good immigrants.

We need to shut down legal immigration for a while and really assess what is truly needed.

This has been my experience as well. The africans in gradschool are so much more of a cultural fit than anyone else. This board would be surprised.

African immigrants in college aren’t usually troublemakers. They keep their heads down and take care of business.

I don’t know about other countries, but Nigerians are a high performing group. They’re on par with Asian immigrants.

No, I specifically mean immigrants to America - the ones with the intellect and financial means to get out.

One of the guys ahead of me was from Ethiopia (super talented), basically told me they only have a limited amount of resources for education and they triage the top 50% of students give or take. So if you show promise, they invest in you, if you don't you dont make it past elementary school.

But right next door
I have met and worked with several from Cameroon and it was a totally different experience.
Northwest African like Morrocan, yep no issues.
But to say all Africans, like the whole continant is a mono-cultural block, is not correct.

Because you have data on how well African immigrants perform in higher education and assimilate to American values compared to other countries?
If you do, I eagerly await the data. I have no issue being proven wrong and will admit to being wrong but it is going to take more than just calling me and others uneducated.

You see the same behavior in inner city America. It leads to brain drain, lack of business, poverty and violence and anyone from there with talent and intelligence must leave there to succeed

My experiences have been with Sudanese, Nigerian, Ethiopian and South African and range from college through my career in engineering. All of them I dealt with were hard workers that aligned with traditional american values of doing work and having strong families.
I dont think they should take spots from American students but not all African immigrants are the bad ones.
