We have a foldable beach wagon from Sam's Club that cost us about $70. It has fat plastic wheels that make it easier to roll on sand. I live 10 minutes from the beach, so it gets a lot of use.

I am about to order this one and give it a shot LINK
Seems like any 4 wheel cart that has any sort of plastic wheel is just like pulling dead weight in that soft sand. There are 4 wheel carts with inflatable tires that I was looking at as well.

To hell with all that… pony up a couple hundred bucks and rent the chairs.

We got a really durable wagon from Ozark Trail, which I kinda went cheap on and only spent $50 or so, but it works great and folds up pretty small. The biggest issue is that it has the hard thin wheels so when going through deep sand it SUCKS. Would buy again though.

Depends on what kind of sand.
Kiawah, SC the sand is flat and hard. Almost like concrete. The 4 small wheels work well.
On softer beaches where your feet sink ankle deep while you walk the big fat tires work better.
