Planting on a hillside to prevent washing

Wife and I bought a new place (new to us) in August. House is up on a hill with an awesome view. Cutting some of the grass is a bit of a challenge due to the grade of the slope. Even with a top of the line zero turn some of it is more of a "controlled slide" when cutting grass.
Recommendations for planting something that would spread that wouldn't really need cutting or trimming (no thanks on the kudzu) but would help with erosion too.
Some of it is shaded but most gets blenty of sun. Thanks for suggestions.

Switchgrass is great for erosion, it spreads, and its no maintenance, but it's going to grow tall so it may block your view on the hill which you may not want.

"Due to its fast-growing nature and ability to form dense mats of foliage, Asiatic Jasmine Vine is often used for erosion control purposes. When planted on slopes or embankments, the vine’s extensive root system helps to stabilize the soil and prevent erosion caused by water runoff or wind."

Dwarf mondo grass is perfect for the situation.

Just slap some Zoysia on it and push mow it. It'll look like this:
