Picked up 10 lbs shrimp to boil in my crawfish boil today. When should I throw them in the boil? And how long to soak? I plan on putting them in a mesh laundry bag

Throw them in right when you shut off the burner for the soak. I let them sit in there for a few minutes to cook then pull them out. Once the water cools towards the end of the crawfish soak I throw them back in to soak up some seasoning for maybe 10 minutes so.

Throw them in for the soak for a couple of minutes then add a frozen gallon water jug to cool the water and stop the cooking

Do your crawfish like you want em, when you are finished add plenty more seasoning, shrimp take more , bring your water to a boil, add shrimp and cut fire , they will start to float , then sink, won’t take long

What count? 10 - 15 need a smidge more time to cook. If your crawfish water is boiling, then 2 - 3 minutes, 180 - 200 degrees, the 3 - 4 minutes. Pull the shrimp after the cook and cool down the pot, then soak the shrimp until desired seasoning. Overcooked shrimp are the worst.

Heads on or heads off seems to make a difference as well. I have much better luck throwing heads on shrimp in the crawfish pot during the soak and the shells not sticking much.

boil shrimp in plain water for one minute, remove and set aside, boil crawfish like normal and when you have about 5 minutes left on your crawfish soak, add the boiled shrimp in with the crawfish, guaranteed to peel easy
