The transfer position players are just average at best this year

None of them are impressive so far this year. They were much more hyped than they are proving to be. On all kinds of list and some of them aren’t even getting run at positions.
Reaves also should never see the field again.

None of them really came with that high of expectations IMO. Yorke was above average at GCU, which is decent baseball, but he didn't do anything exceptional. He was under 20 HRs I believe and batted .330s.
Dar Dar was a low .300s average guy with 13 HRs at KSU. He had a HR off Anderson, but we knew he'd be average at best here.
Carroway had a below average season at Oregon State, which is a great program. He had lots of errors, a .270 or so average and like 12 HRs, which mostly came late in the season.
Simpson, who gets the least PT, was supposed to be the best. His last year at High Point was similar, or maybe better than Dickinson's best year at Utah Valley. He was like .385 with 18 HRs. I don't understand why he doesn't get a longer leash, but it doesn't look like the power has translated very well.

So far. It’s how progress takes its shape. 5 or 6 steps forward and a few back and then 4 or 5 forward again. A lot of new faces.

I just expected more from them.

Carraway was one of the most talented bats in his recruiting class. He didn’t have the production at Oregon st but he had the potential. He’s been fairly solid at the bottom of the lineup, and Jay trusts him there to turn the lineup over.

This one has been a bit puzzling to me. He's got a high strikeout rate, but his overall production is not terrible. He was probably the highest ranked guy we signed in the portal, but he is sitting out some games in favor of Tanner Reaves.

It’s early…baseball is a strange sport, like golf.
Sometimes things take a minute to click.

Jay has brought this up before but championship runs have cost us the top transfer portal kids.
They need to fix the schedule to where the portal doesn’t open until midnight of the day of the last game.
I’m not sure why the ncaa struggles with calendars and common sense. Baseball doesn’t really have an urgent need for the transfer window to open in the middle of post season play. The kids had plenty of time to be registered in school by fall semester.

Maybe wait and see if they get better? Sometimes it happens, ya know.
