I was really hoping to end up with Quay or Lloyd. Now I'm really hoping Styles is there @ 8 but we can't trot out Stutsman and Werner as our starters next season. I'd probably lose sleep over that.

One of the more interesting developments that I'm not sure many people realize is that D'Marco Jackson has turned into a starter at LB in Chicago. Would have been nice if we could have held on to one of either him or Kaiden Elliss. I'm not high on Werner at all. However, I liked what I saw out of Stalbird towards the end of the year and maybe he can turn into a contributor.

Lloyd was really the one we needed.. The other option is trying to get Demario to reneg on his deal with the Jets as it's just an agreement on terms right now. I doubt he would do that though

I don’t think we would’ve let Demario walk unless we had a plan at LB that didn’t involve getting Devin Lloyd. That would’ve been the epitome of all your eggs in one basket to bank on getting the most coveted LB in FA.

Presumably it’s some combination of they’re relatively high on Stutsman/Stalbird/werner, they like some of the lower tier FA guys this year, and/or they’re high on LB in the draft and feel good about getting a contributor in the mid rounds (or maybe Styles is in play at 8).

Stutsman ran a 4.52. That's not slow for a LB.
