David Edwards allowed just four quick pressures (under 2.5 seconds) in 2025 for a 0.7% quick pressure rate, the 3rd-lowest among left guards with 300+ pass blocks.

All-Pros Joe Thuney and Quenton Nelson were the only left guards to allow lower marks.

We’ve seen this far too often in last few years when an OL was immediately beat and blows up a play… at least if you get beat after a few seconds the QB has a chance to make a play

That's equally been the issue with the run game, where the interior gets blown up and the back has nowhere to go.

With a legit backup C last year, when McCoy went down it didn't completely tank us, but it was obvious not having a legit LG hurt us badly. As much as people bitch about Ruiz (and mostly rightly so), that LG spot turned out to be a black hole.

He was a former QB, then a later a tight end. Kellen has added the guard eligible and the Bumarooski to the playbook.
