Two Texas women were arrested for trying to smuggle drugs, phones and tobacco into the Federal Prison, according to the Grant Parish Sheriff’s Office.

GPSO said the women used a drone to fly in plastic crow decoys filled with the contraband. The women said they were being paid $40,000 to smuggle in the items.

This makes the 9th and 10th arrests of suspects trying to smuggle contraband into the Federal Prison in Grant Parish in 2026.

Always from out of state (usually women) and using drones to fly drugs into the compound. Who is paying them? If you’re on the inside and you have 40k just bribe a fricking prison guard.

I guess they have been cracking down on what's coming in through the normal entry points?

$40k though? Damn, that inflation is rough.

Damn. I feel like bribing a guard at a prison in Grant Parish would be pretty easy.

Who do they have in there that has that much cash and influence?

It's one of the only 2 things to do in Grant Parish. Go to church or do drugs.

They don't even have a stoplight in the entire parish - seriously.

The Federal pen in Pollock has a very high amount of inmates on Federal drug charges so I'm sure that's a lot of it.

Edit: You left out the best parts:

i had to spend a night in the Shelby County TN jail several years ago for a DUI, the room I was in was for "weekenders" - guys who had extended sentences that they only served during weekends. Called my wife once I got settled and right after I hung up a guy went to the phone and unscrewed the mic and pulled out a bag of drugs. Later on he came up and offered me a menu of drugs. I asked him why they were bringing them in because it must be risky and he told me he makes more money on the weekends in jail selling than he does for his real job. They had a hole in the ceiling and the guys in the cell above would drop down a string where they'd exchange the drugs and money. Pretty eye opening.

A good friend of mine retired from there. He said the money is so much better doing this it's worth the price if they get caught.
